You probably experience these panic attacks, or anxiety attacks on a regular basis during a similar experience too.

Imagine feeling so 'normal' whilst doing everything you want to do, wherever you want to do it, and in front of whoever you want to do in front of, with that confident feeling filling you with pure enjoyment....

So what exactly is a panic attack?

A panic attack is the term used to describe what has happened when your body experiences a rush of intense psychological (mental) and physical symptoms.

Everybody feels anxious, and a degree of panic, from time to time and this is completely normal, especially in times of danger or a stressful situation.

However, for those with a panic disorder, or panic attacks, these feelings of anxiety can occur at any time, and usually for no particularly obvious reason.

Our clients that we have worked with have described feeling an overwhelming sense of fear, apprehension and anxiety. They also experienced lots of physical symptoms, such as nausea, sweating, trembling and a sensation that your heart is beating irregularly (palpitations).

So why does my mind and body react this way?

The onset of a panic attack is usually very sudden, and typically, a panic attack will last usually between 20 and 30 minutes.

The majority of those who suffer from panic attacks, may well have only ever experienced that one pang of anxiety and fear in their entire life. However, the next time a similar event occurs, they will remember what happened last time, and they become so anxious as to whether it is going to happen again, that before they know it they are experiencing the same symptoms again!

The visible symptoms of distress heighten the fear of disapproval, and the symptoms themselves can become an additional focus of fear. This creates a vicious cycle: the more the sufferer worries about displaying the symptoms, the greater the chance of developing them.

We can't answer all your questions here as this is a highly personal subject and it's important to us that, before you make your choice, you have all your questions answered in person, feel really comfortable that we are right for each other and that's why we invite you to a initial consultation. The only cost of this is 20 minutes of your time! and we will also give you a complimentary hypnosis CD. You can call us on the number above or go straight to our contact page.
