A new wave of blogs are coming from here at Cambridge Hypnotherapy!!!

Monday, June 3rd, 2013

Every week here at Cambridge Hypnotherapy we receive numerous enquiries that seem to centre around a certain theme that is current in the news or media. When we watch or read about a particular situation in the news, or watch something happen in our favourite TV programme it be very easy to relate it to our own personal lives and allow it to stir up a wide range of emotions from regret, guilt, fear or even simply sadness or happiness.

We have decided to focus upon this and start to write a regular weekly blog on whatever we feel is a topical event, allowing all of you that read this to realise just how easy it can be to disconnect and not let it bother you anymore.

Whether it’s reading or hearing about sexual abuse cases that stir up old buried memories, watching TV characters on EastEnders battle with drink or drug addictions, certain storylines in Coronation Street dealing with domestic abuse both mental and physical,  OCD behaviours on programmes such as Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners, or even focusing on eating disorders such as obesity and anorexia on episodes of Supersize vs Superskinny, we will be writing about it!

If you feel that any of our articles have helped you, please feel free to share them around and if you find that you relate to them in any way, and would like to learn how we as Hypnotherapists in Cambridge can help you let go of these issues in only 2-3 sessions, then please feel free to contact us here, or on 01223 720 120 to arrange a FREE initial consultation

Have a great day!

Summer is Coming…… lose weight with Cambridge Hypnotherapy

Monday, May 20th, 2013

The clearest indication for us at Cambridge Hypnotherapy that summer is on the way here is when our enquiries regarding losing weight with Hypnotherapy increase, as they have done over the past few weeks.

Hypnotherapy is fantastic with helping clients to lose weight LONG TERM, and not just for the short term like many other weight loss plans such as Slimming World, Weight Watchers, and all those other fad diets out there. Make no doubt about it, they will ALL help you lose weight, however that’s always going to be a given when your eating habits are restricted. Think about it, if you were given an eating plan to follow forcing you to eat less, with public weigh ins each week, you have to lose weight, it’s that simple!!!!

The only question is, what happens after you have finished your 8 – 12 week course of dieting etc. Well the most common outcome will be you go straight back to your old eating habits and pile the weight straight back on!

So how are we different? Well to start with we don’t set out any sort of eating plan. My job is not to teach people how to suck eggs, and everyone consciously knows what they should and shouldn’t eat. Weight loss with hypnotherapy with us here is all about working at the unconscious level. We can help eradicate the emotional eating, those times when we eat junk because we’re upset, or had a stressful day, or those times when we resort to raiding the cupboards because we’re bored and it’s convenient. We also start to recreate the mind-body connection so that our clients feel full up quicker than previously and therefore are unable to consume too much food, as well as only being able to eat when they are hungry which helps eradicate any snacking on unhealthy foods between meal times.

The other huge added benefit of losing weight with Cambridge Hypnotherapy, is that your weight loss and changes to your eating habits can be PERMANENT! In my entire time as a Hypnotherapist in Cambridge, I have never worked with someone again for weight loss after helping them change first time around.

If you would like to lose weight, feel better about yourself and become more confident in your body, contact us now to find out how easy it is in only 2-3 sessions with a FREE initial consultation, or call us on 01223 720 120.

Coping and Dealing with Grief ~ Now the cost of a good Magazine!

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

I have been thinking for a little while now having been in the company of people suffering from grief in some form or another. From the death of a loved one, broken marriages and relationships to loss of being able to find themselves.

Grief comes to us for many reasons and many different issues and it doesn’t matter if others think them silly or simply we should just get on with it, it is felt deeply by those who suffer.

And suffer is what we do which is the thing we need not do!

Remember ~ Yes,

Be Grateful ~ Yes

Live our lives fully and with passion ~ Yes

So I’ve decided to reduce the price of my Ebook and accompanying hypnosis downloads to £5.00. Not as a sale or for the short term but to cover costs ~ and that’s it

Are You Scared of hypnosis?

Wednesday, January 26th, 2011

The other day a client called about coming along to an initial consultation but was scared. She had beeen recommended to ‘try’ hypnotherapy by a friends and even though her friend new the results first hand she still remained scared and worried. This can be typical for quite a few people so I thought I would let you know the truth.

So let’s describe a typical hypnosis trance:

If you get up in the mornings with an alarm then you will sure to have had this experience or if you have been asleep and just in that semi awake state, not asleep yet not quite awake. You can probably remember a time right now.

It’s just that you know you could get up, you can hear everything that’s going on, you are aware you are not asleep but it’s just too comfortable and you are soooooo relaxed. ~ That’s it, that’s what being in a trance is like ~ You’re in control ~ totally! You could get up but you well Hmmmm it’s nice here. Yet if you had to get up and deal with something you could.

And there is another great thing that we feel here at Cambridge Hypnotherapy, with our unique Hypnotherapy, is that you may not even be hypnotized because we specialise in NLP and Time Line therapy as well as hypnosis because hypnosis may not be the right thing for you.

But we digress; let’s ask a few questions that if you are scared would put your mind at rest.

Question: Will I lose control?

Answer: Absolutely not! And don’t believe anyone tells you different. A real hypnotherapist guides your unconscious mind to find your answers, never direct you to do anything.

Question: Will I suffer any side affects?

Answer: Probably ~ you may just feel a whole lot better than you felt before!

Question: Will I feel hypnotized or be lie like I am in a coma?

Answer: You will have probably seen people being hypnotized on the stage and looking completely ‘out of it’ well that’s so far from the truth in a therapy setting. Yes, you will probably feel really relaxed and comfortable and the thing is you will hear everything being said to you, it’s just that you will have your eyes closed.

The best thing you can do is make sure you come along to an initial consultation first, it’s totally complimentary and you can get all the information and answers you need first hand. You will find like most things you worried about and when you did them, you got through them and probably enjoyed them ~ hypnosis is the same.

Plus because we really enjoy our work and helping people get what they want we find our clients enjoy it too!

Dealing with grief ~ a good way to remember those we love

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

Today is the 2nd anniversary of my mothers passing and who knows what has prompted me to write this, other than to pass on some thoughts. (or maybe just some personal ramblings)

There’s a line in a song

‘ you left me here, to remind me of you’ and that to me is a comfort

~ as long as I am here, so will she.

and hopefully I can display those wonderful qualities she taught me by the way she was and the way she still is within me.

We don’t have to be sad, angry or alone when we remember those who have left us ~ I’m not ~ I miss her and speak to her most days and listen. Not just with my ears but with an awareness and I seem to understand.

But how can you remember in a way that makes you feel ok?

This is what I do.

I think of a good time(s) with her and see it as if I’m looking through my own eyes.

I’m there again, seeing what I saw, hearing what I heard and I feel the good feelings I had and every good memory is the same way. I make it that way because that’s how I want it to be.

If any memory isn’t of a good time, I see it differently. I see myself in the memory, (as if it’s a movie with me in it) over there and I make it smaller and darker, I make it still and move it away from me ~ any not so good feeling just diminish

This is not the only way but a sure way to remember what you want, how you want to and it’s good to remember because……………..

‘ you left me here, to remind me of you’

Enjoy your every heart beat

Dealing with being (made) redundant ~Redundancy

Monday, December 8th, 2008

If you have never been there, being made redundant, it’s very difficult to imagine how it feels. The very term Redundant has deep emotional meaning to those who it affects.

The dictionary definintion “1. superfluous 2. no longer needed (at work)”

For some it can be taken as an identity issue ~ I AM redundant, I AM no longer needed.

And all of this can raise what we would term ‘negative emotions’ such as anger, sadness, guilt and for some the feeling of grief as real as losing someone.

BUT……..

This does not have to be this way … Oh No! (nearly swore there)

We can change those feelings into what we want. To replace them with expectation, opportunity, relief, passion and even gratitude.

The past is exactly what it is THE PAST, it’s gone and the great thing about the future is that it hasn’t arrived so we can make it the way we want to experience the now.

How?

By using the one thing that’s more powerful than anything else in the world……Our Mind.

When we use our mind in such a way we can feel the way we want to feel, see what we want to see and attract what we want in our lives.

Sounds too easy?

That’s because you haven’t experienced it

With Hypnoisis, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and Time Line Therapy plus a whole lot of other things we have learnt and developed we can make those changes. All you have to do is want to do it now.

Remember what ever thought you’re thinking~ You’re more than that and more than that too!

At the moment I am in the middle for creating an audio book for dealing with loss and in that I guide my listener ( there must be at least one) on ways to overcome loss, grief of any kind easily and quickly based on my work with a friend of mine. I’ll post a couple of simple things they did real soon

You’re more than that
