Our Hypnotherapy in Cambridge ~ So why do we do this stuff?

Hypnosis, hypnotism ~ So why do we do this stuff?

This thing , which some people say doesn’t exist and others hold in mystery (if only they knew !).

Here’s the answer on the form of another question(s).

Why would two young men, 18 and 24 year old respectively, decide to enter into the world of helping people and in affect totally risk their livelihoods? Changing steady careers to one of uncertainty.

Why would someone highly experienced and respected in business say no to that life and change direction completely towards caring for people?

Why?

Because the answer to all the above must be PASSION. Having a passion for what we do and getting the best buzz life can give you when you see someone change, let go of old ‘stuff’ like depression which has held them back for years or overcoming low self esteem such as “I’m not good enough, deserving enough etc. etc. There are few things in life that gives you that feeling and we get to experience with our clients.

And the best thing is the passion is growing.

Sorry the answer is so short ~ but it is sweet.

Coping and Dealing with Grief ~ Now the cost of a good Magazine!

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

I have been thinking for a little while now having been in the company of people suffering from grief in some form or another. From the death of a loved one, broken marriages and relationships to loss of being able to find themselves.

Grief comes to us for many reasons and many different issues and it doesn’t matter if others think them silly or simply we should just get on with it, it is felt deeply by those who suffer.

And suffer is what we do which is the thing we need not do!

Remember ~ Yes,

Be Grateful ~ Yes

Live our lives fully and with passion ~ Yes

So I’ve decided to reduce the price of my Ebook and accompanying hypnosis downloads to £5.00. Not as a sale or for the short term but to cover costs ~ and that’s it

Loneliness advice ~ hypnotherapy in Cambridge

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011

Being alone for some people can be just what they want. A time for thinking, working things out in their heads ~ finding a little space in our busy lives.

For others being alone can be isolating to the extreme and create deep feelings of loneliness.

If you have ever experienced this you will know that feeling, which is different for each one of us. For some it may be an empty feeling, others a feeling of loss and helplessness.

So for those who want that space and can’t find it what can you do?

Well one thing is to commit to yourself in advance. Commit to a time (and a place) and keep in sacrosanct. Tell others who may want your time what you are doing so they can respect your time and give you the space you want.

Then go do it

and you may wish to record your thoughts in a journal especially how good it is to have this space and time with yourself. You are speaking to your best friend, your unconscious mind, this way and therefore the next time you do this the experience will get better and better.

But what about those of us who feel alone now?

What can we do?

Well, there are many things you can do and the information’s is all around, in libraries, newspapers or the internet to find activities, groups or relationships. I know that’s easier said than done if our loneliness is connected to grief, sadness, low self esteem or limiting beliefs we have about ourselves.

The thing is it doesn’t have to be this way (the title of my book about grief) because there is plenty of help at hand

such as:

  • Yes of course we’re here at Cambridge Hypnotherapy and can help you find the real you, the you with all the resources and confidence to create the life what you choose.
  • read empowering autobiographies ~ there’s plenty from Victor Frankl to those of ‘Dragons Den’ and plenty in between.
  • Go on a couple of seminars ~ Joseph’s ‘Reclaim your Destiny’ and ‘Empowerment Live’ to name but two
  • Do a mind map of all the things that interested you as a child, things that excited you and when you have filled a whole page ask yourself the question ” where can I find these feelings or something similar now?”
  • Read “Feel the Fear and do it anyway”
  • go to a book shop and look at all the self help books available and pick one that feels right. Don’t just Read it ~ READ IT and DO WHAT IT SUGGESTS!

the list goes on only your imagination is your boundary and that’s infinite

New year resolutions an NLP approach

Thursday, January 6th, 2011
So many people make a list of all the things they want to change in their lives and that’s about it, that’s all they do ~ a list.

Does that sound the most successful way of changing and improving your life? Basically it sucks and we wonder why we fail or break these resolutions.

So what can we do?

Obviously the first thing we would say here at Cambridge Hypnotherapy is to come along and work with us, be coached one to one and be supported in getting what you want.

If that’s not what you want that’s okay because there’s plenty you can do.

The first thing to do is throw away the list, have one sheet of paper for each new goal or outcome you want to achieve. On the top of each one write a sentence to describe what you want but write it in the present tense ” I am now ………. fill in the blank”,

Then a few “why you want it’s” and make sure they are all positive and just notice how that feels imagining having it already ~ now. Imagine the last step so you know you have got your outcome. Make the picture bigger, brighter and notice how that feels

Then, keeping that feeling brainstorm

  • Who do you know who can help?
  • what do you have already?
  • Where can you find things or people to help?
  • What’s the very first thing you could do today? (Keep it simple ~ little steps and you will see results!)
  • How often do you need to review how far you have got towards your outcome?

(You might want to check out my create your dreams website too)

Then commit. Commit to yourself and if you can out loud to others so you will be held accountable.

There’s an awful lot more to coaching and realising your goals and this is all a great start to get you on your way.

Sometimes however, we have limiting beliefs that hold us back or emotions that affect our self esteem and lack of confidence and that’s honestly where we can really help you here and Cambridge Hypnotherapy.

Either way I’d love to know how you get on doing things a little differently once you have thrown away that damn list!

You can always discus this further with us

Can we choose what we believe in?

Monday, June 30th, 2008

Beliefs can be such funny things we we hear them.
Ours, that is.
When we’re working with our clients we elicit or uncover the things that we live by at an unconscious level, the beliefs and values at our core. The things we live our life by and don’t even know it until we have an issue or when things just don’t seem to feel right, you know, on the inside.
Yet, if we were to have the belief that we can choose any belief, imagine what changes we can make and the wonderful things we could do and enjoy.
And I believe we all can and that’s a great belief to believe and so much better than those like “I’m not worth it” or “I don’t deserve to have what I want” etc. etc.

See, we take on most of our core beliefs and values from sometime before the age of 5, the imprint period,
and whose beliefs are they? Our parents, Grandparents and anybody else who’s around and where did they
get them from and when and how relevant are they to your life today?
Can we change our core beliefs?
You bet and if they don’t inspire us or support us then we should. Time Line Therapy is a wonderfully gentle way of changing our beliefs, our negative emotions (without regression) and when used in conjuction with NLP and Hypnosis anything is possible (Oops! there’s another belief of ours)
Thinking that “I’m stupid and won’t achieve” or something like that to me is something that’s
just not right as we have infinite potential to do anything ~ yes ANYTHING! we are the creators of our reality
so lets create something more than we could ever dream of for ourselves and others.
So…………..
If you don’t believe any of this or feel at this moment you can’t change or see another way
Imagine………….
What would it be like if you could? if you did?
what would you see?
what would you hear?
what would you feel?
you don’t have do anything other than IMAGINE IT, PRETEND
AND
what would that mean to you if you could have it that way?
and what would that mean to you?
Go on…………play~it’s free
and so are those wonderful beliefs
You might even want to find out how to let go of all that other stuff such as anxiety, low self esteem
and have what you want and feel different now.

How much pleasure could you stand
