A lot of enquiries we get are from people that feel they are stuck in a situation that they don’t have any control over. The first thing I want everyone to understand is that we are ALWAYS in control. No matter whether it be an issue within a relationship, with food, alcohol, a job situation or in fact anything, we are always the one in control. Maybe we’re not in control of the situation, but we are always in control over how we react to it.

Weight loss the easy way

One of the most common questions we get is do we work with weight loss and seeing clients wanting to lose weight with hypnotherapy. It’s probably the joint second most common issue that we work with after anxiety.

Over the last 12 years of being a hypnotherapist I have personally built an amazing system where we don’t focus on losing weight. We look at changing our clients’ relationship with food and eating habits, which will obviously have the desired result of losing weight.

The first thing we look at is the reasons that people eat, and then start to realign certain beliefs. We deal with the conflict between the perceived positive intention and the actual resulting consequence. For example, many people eat when they are sad and down as a way to cheer themselves up, however then they regret it and feel even worse. Or maybe they eat because they are bored, and then realise that they have wasted 2 hours being bored sat on the sofa with a packet of biscuits.

The second angle is to change clients’ habits and the eliminate times where they eat simply due to the fact it’s what they’ve always done.
