Cambridge Hypnotherapy for Sleep Disorders

Recently we have had a trend of enquiries at Cambridge Hypnotherapy for sleep disorders from potential clients. The term sleep disorders can mean anything from not being able to get to sleep, constantly waking up due to a light level of sleep, and all the way to people who sleep too much and are constantly tired!

Hypnotherapy for sleep issues is a a great way to make a dramatic and easy change. When you think about it, sleep is 100% controlled by our unconscious mind, and I think we’ve all experienced who hard this makes it to change on a conscious level at times when we’ve been desperate to sleep, but the more you try the more awake you seem to find yourself!

Unfortunately, when it comes to sleep part of our mind (the unconscious) may deem sleep as being wasted time, and if you have an important meeting or presentation the next day then if you spend all night sleeping that means you have less time to spend preparing, right? And if you spent all night preparing your speech etc then you would be able to perform to the very best of your ability the next day, right? WRONG! We can use advance levels of NLP and Hypnosis to allow your mind to learn that even though it makes sense on paper, if you spend all night awake you will undoubtedly be over tired the next day and therefore perform way below par!

We will all have slept on a problem before, and when we do it always seems to feel different the next day. This is because even when you are asleep your mind can continue to process information and this is what we will allow your mind to learn. You will find yourself falling asleep quickly and easily without any sort of anxiety about what could happen and this will be a life long lasting change.

If you would like to change any issue you may have regarding sleep or sleep disorders with Hypnotherapy in Cambridge, please contact us here or call us on 01223 720 120 for a complimentary initial consultation with no obligation to proceed.

SAD…… Letting go of Seasonal Affective Disorder with Hypnotherapy in Cambridge

Monday, October 21st, 2013

SAD – Seasonal Affective Disorder…. what exactly is it? According to the NHS it is “a type of depression that has a seasonal pattern. The episodes of depression tend to occur at the same time each year, usually during the winter”. We at Cambridge Hypnotherapy feel slightly different.

If you were to ask anyone you know how they feel in Summer compared to Winter however, I’m sure that you will get a common theme with your results. Most of us are much happier when the sun is shining and we can get out and about, and likewise we are commonly down when it is dark and dreary. Some people obviously suffer with these changes more than others and can often de diagnosed as having SAD.

I personally think that it can dangerous to label people with things such as SAD, or general depression for a few reasons. Firstly, if they have an issue such as depression or SAD, they lose track of any responsibility for their emotions and believe that they will last forever and start to simply try to manage them instead of letting go of them. Secondly, when we give someone a label they will start to live their life in a way that fits with this new identity. They will believe that they can’t go certain places, or do certain things in accordance with their new identity. To start with when it comes those with SAD, as soon as winter is approaching and summer is ending, they are instantly dreading the impending arrival of their depression and preparing themselves for when it arrives. One question though….. What if it didn’t arrive? That simple questions takes them out of their problem state and immediately makes them look at things from a different angle. How will their winter be knowing they can still go anywhere, cosy up in front a fire, play snowball fights with their children? seems kind of fun now, right?

Letting go of Depression with Cambridge Hypnotherapy can be very quick and easy. We are unlike Counselling and other forms of Hypnotherapy which seem to go on for 10 sessions plus, sometimes years! We work with our clients for rarely more than 3 sessions, and in fact in September 2013 100% of our clients achieved their results in 3 sessions or less.

If you would like to feel back in control and enjoy your life this winter, or let go of depression in other areas of your lives, please feel free to contact us here now, or call us on 01223 720 120 to arrange a free initial consultation. We will even send you 2 free downloads.

Hypnosis for fear of flying – Cambridge Hypnotherapy for phobias

Monday, October 14th, 2013

Recently I read an article in the national newspapers highlighting a story about a young boy of 12 years old who had developed a phobia of flying and now been stranded in the Middle East for more than one year. Eventually, with the aid of Hypnotherapy, he managed to overcome his fear and fly back with his Father to meet up with his Mother and Sister who had already returned to the UK.

Fear of flying is one of the more common phobias that we work with here at Cambridge Hypnotherapy, however we have worked with pretty much any phobia that you can think of including fear of spiders, fear of heights, fear of needles, fear of dogs, fear of driving and even the fear of shirt buttons among many many more.

The Father in this particular case thought that his Sons phobia had been bought on by an ear infection that bought with it terrible pain and discomfort, and this type of situation is very common. Quite often the phobia is not actually caused by anything bad happening with that particular thing, such as flying issues, but more so by something else which makes it simply a horrible experience, such as the ear infection. The next time that individual gets ready to do that thing again, their unconscious mind remembers what happened last time and how emotionally unpleasant it was, thus creating so much fear that they simply don’t go ahead with doing it! If you don’t do it, it can’t be horrible, right?…. WRONG!!!! By not doing what we want to enjoy doing, it feels pretty horrible in itself!

So how long does it take to let go of a phobia? Well certainly not 12 months! Once someone has decided that the time is right t0 let go of it, it takes no more than 3 sessions. Many of our clients actually achieve their results in less than this!

If you have a fear or phobia that you feel has been affecting your life and would like to find out just how easy it is to let go of your phobia with Cambridge Hypnotherapy, you can contact us here, or call us on 01223 720 120 and we will be more than happy to discuss it with you. You will also receive 2 free downloads, and are welcome to come and visit us for a free initial consultation where you can find out more.
