How to Overcome your fear of spiders ~ Arachnophobia

Arachnophobia is a fear of spiders and although a real fear to those who suffer from it, it is purely an irrational fear. People suffering from this phobia feel frightened if they just see a spider or even a spider web. Some may even get scared looking at a drawing of spider, now that's totaly irrational logicaly and interlectualy but nonetheless real to those who suffer.

Like most of the phobias this is an unconscious action which has its roots deep in the mind. So if a person sees a spider consciously there is a chance of panic attack, sweating and high stress.

NLP and hypnosis are probably the most effective ways of letting go of a phobia of any kind. Here at Cambridge Hypnotherapy we would expect to do this in onlt 1 or 2 sessions.

Here are some tips to get rid of the fear you can do before coming for a hypnosis session:

Firstly, try to understand your fear. Know the fact that the fear that is bothering you is irrational and the chances of the spider attacking you is nil in actuality. This fact will help you come out of the fear soon.

Set a goal in your mind about getting rid of this fear. Is it okay to live with the fear or is it better to get rid of it immediately. If the thought of a spider itself can wreck havoc in you then would you like to make your life hell with the fear. Think of how you would like to feel.

Find out more about spiders. More knowledge about them would help you in analyzing your meaningless fear. You can come to a conclusion that they cannot harm you or kill you. This will help you gain some courage to face a spider.

Get comfortable with the thought of spiders and also seeing them from a distance. This helps you gaining some familiarity about them. Look at some of the pictures of a spider and remind yourself of the fact that they are not dangerous things to be afraid of.

Try hypnosis as therapy. A good hypnotist can change the patterns in your mind by affirmative suggestions and  bring some change in your outlook.
 

Start meditation and know how to relax yourself and focus on your thoughts.

Fill your mind with positive thoughts which will go a long way in maintaining a good state of mind. This will go a long way in ruling your moods.
